{10/366 | Texx} “…The Mechanics of Dying.”

“It was the first of many personal moments they would share together. A long sabbatical into her day-to-day care, part of the mechanics of dying.  He’s done all he could. But choosing to lovingly care for her was like steering a plane into a mountain as gently as possible. The crash is imminent; it’s how you spend your time on the way down that counts.”  ~Jamie Ford, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, pg. 34

This is Mama B finally being able to rest a little before the pain starts all over again.

I’m thinking of my Biddies out tonight, discussing this book, eating, drinking, soaking up much needed quality time with each other.  This is my contribution as if I were there. But I am here, living this excerpt.

Don’t believe the hype… The romanticized, edited, Hollywood version what dying is~ It is hard work…Take care of the people you love, tell them you love them often, appreciate every single moment you have your health. “The crash is imminent; it’s how you spend your time on the way down that counts.”

Howdy! Obsessed with all things photography. Love to teach, and heal through this art. #photogHER2Day Coming to you from Austin, Tx. Above all else (and it's a lot) I'm Mom to Abby & Atlas. Married to my greatest supporter and friend, Curt. Everyday, I choose gratitude over grief.  #MakeTheTime to create for me, so I can be the very best for all those in my life. My "Why": 10 years ago I lost my brother. He was my best friend, my mentor, my compass.  He got sick out of the blue at the 30 years-old and was an inspiration to many. He traveled the world and never had many images to show for it all. I cherish ALL the images we have of Rafael. Blurry or not, I only wish we had more. I capture images of my everyday. Obssessed with capturing moments of my children, of my life and even my businesses. I believe the only thing that seperates a good image from a great image is its ability to tell a story and ultimately make you, the viewer, feel something.

I second Blam’s comment. You all will be in our thoughts! A Stymie’s toast will be given by all (except Blam with be toasting with a Shirley Temple).
I still think it’s eerie how we tend to shoot or say/think the same thing so often, the three of us. Kindred minds.
Take good care of yourself and your family! xoxoxo
