{2/366 | Texx} Tutus & Hockey Skates
Today Mini-Me attended a birthday party. The party was at a little rooftop skating rink in the middle of the busy city, surrounded by sky-scrappers. It was the first time The Abinator has ever been ice-skating {She. Was. AWESOME!}.The rink was filled with happy, scared, proud children most skating for the first time & not one over the age of 8. It was nice to have her first skate sans the speeding teenagers or the twirling showoffs. The whole while I was reveling in the irony that she was born in Alaska, Lived through Washington Winters & we finally get her skating in Austin.
She fell, she got back up. She giggled A LOT – we both giggled a lot. It took me back to skating as a child, my family went ice-skating quite often. It took me back to skating with my brother and my cousins. Awesome childhood memories, that are always bittersweet. She was awesome though & she loved every second of it; even the falling and getting back up. It was one of those few parenting moments that was ALL I had hoped it would be.
