{237/366 | Texx} Hope Floats

Many of you know that we go to the water on birthdays and memorial anniversaries. Family and friends all over the globe find the nearest body of water and float flowers to pay our respects. We spread my brother’s ashes in the Pacific, out off the coast of San Diego & also high atop a glacier on Danali (aka Mt. McKinley).  All the waters of the world are connected and we know that our flower peddles and tears find their way to him; wherever he may be in this great universe.

The sun had since set and I took this long exposure and decided I wanted to be a in the photo.  Running into place pre-snap made me see-through. You can see two of the flowers I floated through the right side of my rib cage.  This Photog Therapy really does help heal the soul, and gives me a little more hope for a new day. Well, until we meet again Big Brother, I’m gonna keep on LIVING the fullest life I know. Just the way you showed us all how. You are loved. You are missed.
♥ Your Little (not really that little anymo’) Sister

Howdy! Obsessed with all things photography. Love to teach, and heal through this art. #photogHER2Day Coming to you from Austin, Tx. Above all else (and it's a lot) I'm Mom to Abby & Atlas. Married to my greatest supporter and friend, Curt. Everyday, I choose gratitude over grief.  #MakeTheTime to create for me, so I can be the very best for all those in my life. My "Why": 10 years ago I lost my brother. He was my best friend, my mentor, my compass.  He got sick out of the blue at the 30 years-old and was an inspiration to many. He traveled the world and never had many images to show for it all. I cherish ALL the images we have of Rafael. Blurry or not, I only wish we had more. I capture images of my everyday. Obssessed with capturing moments of my children, of my life and even my businesses. I believe the only thing that seperates a good image from a great image is its ability to tell a story and ultimately make you, the viewer, feel something.
