We were stuck, stuck, STTTTUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCKKKKKKK in traffic today on the way home from picking Mini-me up from afterschool Ballet. I mean that joint (the hwy) wasn’t moving. So I pulled off after going about one mile in 45 minutes. Mini-me got to run around and I got to shoot a little bit, under the hwy. Which just happens to be the cool pedestrian bridge that straddles the Colorado River, and has a great view of the city. Hopped back into the car after 10 minutes and decided to take an alternate route. The city was just at a stand still.

The beauty of this entire photog thing is that I wasn’t going completely INSANE. I spotted about 8,000 different spots I’d like to shoot. Then, there was this glorious sunset that I was missing because we were in traffic. Two and a half hours later (from departure) and about 10 miles from home I saw the light, the fog, the trees. I just pulled over, jumped out the car and snapped 2 snappers and then finally home. This could’ve been so much better, there was so much more beauty than what was captured…

I can’t wait for the day when I look at a photo that I’ve created and can feel the  awe of the capture. Until that day…Must learn everything there is to know about this amazing art form, this lifestyle, this therapy. Yes I am obsessed, but I am a better person for it!

Howdy! Obsessed with all things photography. Love to teach, and heal through this art. #photogHER2Day Coming to you from Austin, Tx. Above all else (and it's a lot) I'm Mom to Abby & Atlas. Married to my greatest supporter and friend, Curt. Everyday, I choose gratitude over grief.  #MakeTheTime to create for me, so I can be the very best for all those in my life. My "Why": 10 years ago I lost my brother. He was my best friend, my mentor, my compass.  He got sick out of the blue at the 30 years-old and was an inspiration to many. He traveled the world and never had many images to show for it all. I cherish ALL the images we have of Rafael. Blurry or not, I only wish we had more. I capture images of my everyday. Obssessed with capturing moments of my children, of my life and even my businesses. I believe the only thing that seperates a good image from a great image is its ability to tell a story and ultimately make you, the viewer, feel something.
