{5/365 | texx} The Light
Friday would’ve been my brother’s 41st birthday. Every year on his birthday, January 4th, and on his memorial date, August 24th, we go to the water to float flowers. We float them from wherever we are on our beautiful Earth, with thankful hearts. Grateful for the precious, albeit too short, time that his magnificent soul was here with us. We float them knowing that all the waters of the world are connected. It’s our celebration of a LIFE exquisitely lived.
I often think if there were one life that was poetic, it was Rafael’s. To have the honor of knowing him, of being his little sister, is a gift for which I can only be eternally grateful . This year I made 41 Luminaries & tea-lights to float. Into each one I thought a word that Rafael had taught me and still teaches.
