Running Away? No just going for a stroll

A Lovely Stroll with Mini-Me, brings me back 35 years.

Not in this pic are rubber rain boots, polkadot leggins & Grandma B’s Green Sun Hat. I came home to Mini-me in this outfit, after a pretty rough Costco Outing and crazy traffic…Yes – on Saturday. So, I really did LOL and thought it might be another “Daddy-Dressed-Me” incident.  It was NOT. This was all her.  So, I got a few things together and headed for the door.

Mini-Me was READY for the park! LOL. Umbrella & new hot pink zutecase (how she says suitcase) in hand.  I was instantly transported back to childhood…At the ripe age of 3 I’d decided, I’d had enough with parent’s rules and big brother’s tomfoolery. I was headed to a place a little girl could be appreciated. With packed suitcase and snoopy umbrella in hand, I was out! I ran away.  Three-year’s old, on my way to the ‘L’ (aka train), in the middle or The Bronx. Off to a family friend’s house with 2 sons and no daughter. I knew that was gonna be the place for me! Much to my chagrin I was being tailed, by Mommy & Rafalito. After a few blocks they made their presence known.  Then connived me with the mention of lollipops to be had in the near future. I’m a sucker for suckers, what can I say?

I’m so very happy that Abby was not melting-down and trying to run away. It was just a nice walk to the park, in rain boots on an 78 degree, cloudless day. This 35 year-old memory came back so clearly. I guess it’s what gets us through the sheer insanity of this parenthood thing.  The little buggers tie together the past, present and future so very perfectly and always in their own way.

Howdy! Obsessed with all things photography. Love to teach, and heal through this art. #photogHER2Day Coming to you from Austin, Tx. Above all else (and it's a lot) I'm Mom to Abby & Atlas. Married to my greatest supporter and friend, Curt. Everyday, I choose gratitude over grief.  #MakeTheTime to create for me, so I can be the very best for all those in my life. My "Why": 10 years ago I lost my brother. He was my best friend, my mentor, my compass.  He got sick out of the blue at the 30 years-old and was an inspiration to many. He traveled the world and never had many images to show for it all. I cherish ALL the images we have of Rafael. Blurry or not, I only wish we had more. I capture images of my everyday. Obssessed with capturing moments of my children, of my life and even my businesses. I believe the only thing that seperates a good image from a great image is its ability to tell a story and ultimately make you, the viewer, feel something.
