{26/366 | Texx} Sharp

I finally got my my other babies (my knives) sharpened today. They’ve been abused, unhoned and neglected. I swore I’d never do that to my beautiful Shuns, but I did and now they’re alive again, and they don’t live in the block anymore. I’ve placed the magnetic strip under the cupboard, next to the stove, atop the cutting board – it’s a sweet location and look, if I do say so me-self!  Check out my Kitchen Bokeh ;o)

BTW…Whilst in the dingy, little Knife Store with tons o’ knives, swords, shields & arrows, Atlas found his “Sword”. Asked me to buy this pretty silver dagger with intricately engraved case, quite a number of times. I finally had to tell him, “Atlas, it’s shiny and sharp; but I will never buy you anything with a swastika on it!”  Uggg, I didn’t notice it until  looked closely, gross. All the big, biker looking dudes in the small shop (who were dotting on Mr. Atlas), looked at me – Big Brown Mama-  in surprise. We were on our way out, but it’s crazy what you see when you look closely. So ugly.

Anywhoo, glad to have me knives revived, just gonna need to find a different shop to sharpen next time.

Howdy! Obsessed with all things photography. Love to teach, and heal through this art. #photogHER2Day Coming to you from Austin, Tx. Above all else (and it's a lot) I'm Mom to Abby & Atlas. Married to my greatest supporter and friend, Curt. Everyday, I choose gratitude over grief.  #MakeTheTime to create for me, so I can be the very best for all those in my life. My "Why": 10 years ago I lost my brother. He was my best friend, my mentor, my compass.  He got sick out of the blue at the 30 years-old and was an inspiration to many. He traveled the world and never had many images to show for it all. I cherish ALL the images we have of Rafael. Blurry or not, I only wish we had more. I capture images of my everyday. Obssessed with capturing moments of my children, of my life and even my businesses. I believe the only thing that seperates a good image from a great image is its ability to tell a story and ultimately make you, the viewer, feel something.

LOL! If Wade knew how much I spent on our Shuns, I don’t think he would have taken one into the woodshed to slice duraflames to use as firestarters. Yeah, pretty much ruined!
