{103/366 | Texx} Missin’

So, today I wanted to go shoot at a Golf Course ALL-DAY-LONG, and I had no idea why….4/12/2004 My brother & I shot golf balls (he a lefty & I a righty) for the last time, ever, at the range. Then we went to eat Cuban Sandwiches at a cool place just south of Venice Beach.

Today, today ~8 years ago ~ was the last day I spent with my beautiful brother. God Damn I miss him more than words could ever say. Here are a few pics of today. #1 is a fire hydrant across the street, and the red and white “Keep Out” obstacle reminds me of Raf’s Rules #19. “If the road’s closed, go anyway.” . Looking at this whilst the sun set it brought back memories of playing in the fire-hydrants of Morris Place in Yonkers,Ny growing up. #2 & #3 I moved onto Sunset. On the way home from school Abby kept on saying, “The light looks like waterfalls. There, Mommy, take a picture of the light pouring out of the sky!”
So I shall call them LightFalls. I have no doubt my bro is here with us! I just wish I didn’t miss him so very much.

Howdy! Obsessed with all things photography. Love to teach, and heal through this art. #photogHER2Day Coming to you from Austin, Tx. Above all else (and it's a lot) I'm Mom to Abby & Atlas. Married to my greatest supporter and friend, Curt. Everyday, I choose gratitude over grief.  #MakeTheTime to create for me, so I can be the very best for all those in my life. My "Why": 10 years ago I lost my brother. He was my best friend, my mentor, my compass.  He got sick out of the blue at the 30 years-old and was an inspiration to many. He traveled the world and never had many images to show for it all. I cherish ALL the images we have of Rafael. Blurry or not, I only wish we had more. I capture images of my everyday. Obssessed with capturing moments of my children, of my life and even my businesses. I believe the only thing that seperates a good image from a great image is its ability to tell a story and ultimately make you, the viewer, feel something.
