{61/366} Bye Holga

Tomorrow I’ll be turning in the B & W film that’s in my Holga, to be developed. I got the Holga for the week that I was being Mentored by the lovely Tara McGovern…Funny she posted this blog post before coming down here to learn me 😉 and I didn’t actually read it until she was gone. It’s about getting back to basics.  I had in my mind (that when she arrived) I wanted at least one instrument that was as basic as they come. So, Holgas we got and I’m super duper curious, scared, excited on what the outcome will be.

That spark, that passion, that giggle that comes out when I KNOW I just captured that moment and that it will be mine forevermore. This is why I ♥ photography, the process, the learning, the feeling ~ in camera, in photo, in me. This all makes me, a better ME!  Until we meet again Holga film, until we meet again.

My "Why": 10 years ago I lost my brother. He was my best friend, my mentor, my compass.  He got sick out of the blue at the 30 years-old and was an inspiration to many. He traveled the world and never had many images to show for it all. I cherish ALL the images we have of Rafael. Blurry or not, I only wish we had more. I capture images of my everyday. Obssessed with capturing moments of my children, of my life and even my businesses. I believe the only thing that seperates a good image from a great image is its ability to tell a story and ultimately make you, the viewer, feel something.

    Ever since watching the Ted Forbes podcasts, I’ve been wanting a Holga!! Can’t wait to see how the pics turn out!
